Compensation: Salary range is $252,725 - $279,357 annually, depending on experience, plus relocation assistance, sign-on bonus, and loan repayment options.

Role Overview: The physician will deliver a wide range of healthcare services to inpatients, outpatients, and emergency patients at Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital. This role also involves acting as a community liaison and referral physician for various clinics throughout Southeast Alaska.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality clinical care to emergency room patients, including evaluations, clinical assessments, and the implementation of complex treatment plans for patients of all ages.
  • Deliver comprehensive medical services to both inpatients and outpatients, including preventive care and treatment recommendations.
  • Act as a consultative liaison for village healthcare providers and referral physicians in the region.
  • Participate in medical staff activities, including quality assurance reviews and meetings, and serve in leadership roles as assigned.
  • Adhere to medical staff bylaws, rules, regulations, and clinical service policies.

Qualifications:

  • M.D. or D.O. degree with completion of an accredited residency in Family Practice, Medicine/Pediatrics, or Emergency Medicine.
  • Valid Alaska Medical License.
  • BLS Certification is required; PALS, ACLS, and ATLS certifications are preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to analyze clinical information to make informed diagnostic and therapeutic decisions.
  • Knowledge of medical theories and practices, particularly in emergency medicine.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Clinical judgment to assess complex medical situations and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to perform emergency procedures and manage critical situations effectively.
