Job Title: Electrical Controls Specialist

Worlds of Fun is seeking a skilled Electrical Controls Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our ride control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and participate in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of ride control systems to ensure compliance with manufacturer, company, and state guidelines.
  • Assist in the installation, modification, upgrading, and repair of Allen Bradley ride control systems.
  • Perform related technical and supervisory duties as required.
  • Ensure rides are maintained according to manufacturer, company, and state guidelines to ensure the safety of ride operators and guests.
  • Interact and communicate with various groups and individuals, including intermediate supervisors, other park managers and staff, coworkers, subordinates, guests, vendors, contractors, inspectors, etc.
  • Use a variety of supplies and tools, including computer and clerical supplies, electrician tools, meters, scopes, and other hand or power tools.
  • Operate a variety of equipment and machinery, including vehicles, snorkel lifts, fork lifts, computers, two-way radios, etc.
  • Refer to policy and procedures manuals, maintenance manuals, technical manuals, and diagrams, blueprints, computer manuals, ride manuals, catalogs, reference manuals, etc.
  • Prepare and/or process numerous maintenance reports, shift reports, purchase orders, modification forms, estimates, contract agreements, schedules, etc.
  • Receive and review various records and reports, including maintenance requests, maintenance reports, schematics, ride modification forms, purchase orders, equipment manuals, shift reports, safety sheets, downtime reports, contractor quotes, etc.
  • Coordinate activities with other departments and crews as necessary.
  • Oversee and coordinate outside controls contractors as the Owner Representative. Ensure new ride control systems meet the requirements and standards of the company and state or local laws.
  • Assist in maintaining documentation of ride control systems.
  • Coordinate and perform annual preventative maintenance of ride control systems.
  • Maintain integrity of existing ride control programs and check annually for discrepancies of each ride system.
  • Maintain a working copy of existing control system software and keep up to date with newer versions.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to use spreadsheet, database, and AutoCAD computer systems.
  • Must possess extensive knowledge of PLCs, motor drives, and display units.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education, and personal references, per company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Driver's License.
