Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Controls Specialist to join our team at Worlds of Fun. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our ride control systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and participate in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of ride control systems to ensure efficient and safe operations.
  • Assist in the installation, modification, upgrading, and repair of Allen Bradley ride control systems used throughout the Park.
  • Perform related technical and supervisory duties as required.
  • Ensure rides are maintained according to manufacturer, Company, and state guidelines to ensure the safety of ride operators and guests.
  • Interact and communicate with various groups and individuals, including intermediate supervisors, other Park managers and staff, co-workers, subordinates, guests, vendors, contractors, inspectors, etc.
  • Use a variety of supplies and tools, including computer and clerical supplies, electrician tools, meters, scopes, and other hand or power tools.
  • Operate a variety of equipment and machinery, including a vehicle, snorkel lift, fork lift, computer, two-way radio, etc.
  • Prepare and/or process numerous maintenance reports, shift reports, purchase orders, modification forms, estimates, contract agreements, schedules, etc.
  • Coordinate activities with other departments and crews as necessary.
  • Oversee and coordinate outside controls contractors as the Owner Representative.
Requirements
  • Ability to use spreadsheet, database, and AutoCAD computer systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of PLC's, motor drives, and display units.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education, and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Driver's License.
