Key Responsibilities
  • Assume responsibility for the smooth flow of tax returns.
  • Delegate work, supervise seniors and tax staff, provide feedback, and evaluate their progress.
  • Act as director-in-charge for personal and business clients.
  • Act as key client contact person for various engagements.
  • Prepare the most complex tax returns.
  • Approve all returns with the exception of those dealing with specialized issues that require the expertise of another firm professional.
  • Act as a resource for tax staff, senior tax accountants, and tax supervisors.
  • Prepare projections and become involved in planning for more complex clients.
  • Become involved in tax planning for client situations of varying levels of complexity.
  • Assist accounting and auditing staff members in client meetings.
  • Develop a general understanding of firm philosophy and tax opinions.
  • Understand, support, and advance the firm's mission, goals, objectives, and strategies.
  • Review tax accruals and associated working papers.
  • Analyze IRS notices and draft responses.
  • Review IRS notice responses prepared by other tax personnel.
Requirements
  • At least 3-5 years of experience as a Tax Manager.
  • Four or more years of full-time experience in accounting or tax return preparation.
  • CPA certification.
  • Experience in Construction, Medical, Real Estate, or other industries.
