Culinary Preparation Specialists undertake various food preparation, cooking, and cleaning activities to ensure the kitchen operates smoothly in creating and serving dishes for guests.
Specific duties include:
Completing all assigned tasks in the order specified by the Head Chef or kitchen manager
Labeling and arranging all ingredients on accessible shelves
Washing, chopping, and sorting ingredients such as fruits, vegetables, and meats
Measuring quantities of seasonings and other cooking components
Parboiling food, reducing sauces, and initiating the first steps in various recipes
Cleaning dishes, washing cooking utensils and cookware, disposing of waste, and sanitizing the kitchen
Adhering to all relevant nutritional and sanitary regulations and standards
Monitoring ingredient inventory and collaborating with kitchen and management staff to facilitate resupply
Demonstrating stamina to work long hours in a dynamic kitchen environment.
Additionally, they must be capable of lifting heavy items and working collaboratively with other kitchen staff to meet client and executive expectations.
