Job Summary

Symbiotic Corp. is seeking a skilled Cover Technician to join our Product Development team. As a Cover Technician, you will play a critical role in managing new styles, primary and secondary cover setups, and maintaining COM and cover categories in Oracle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Style Management: Manage new styles, primary and secondary cover setups, and ensure accurate naming and zoning of patterns during marker creation.
  • Oracle Maintenance: Maintain COM and cover categories in Oracle, resolving BOM Usage Errors and assigning thread colors to covers.
  • Pattern Correction: Correct and manipulate current patterns and styles for errors/changes, and set up and maintain style BOMs for primary and secondary materials.
  • Special Projects: Cut patterns for customer service and other projects, address special requests for customers, and handle special projects related to cutting test cloths/leather and nesting.
  • Training and Oversight: Train and oversee the cutting of matched materials (match point).
Requirements
  • Experience: 2 years of experience with pattern making and relevant software packages (Cut Works, AutoCAD, etc.).
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of manufacturing principles and methods, self-motivated with excellent organizational skills, ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, and willingness to perform other tasks and be cross-trained in Engineering processes.
Working Conditions
  • Manufacturing Environment: Normal manufacturing environment conditions, including occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs., daily walking of one mile, and the use of safety equipment on the plant floor (closed-toe shoes, ear and eye protection as required).
