About the Role:As a Psychiatric Technician at Parkland Health and Hospital System, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to individuals with mental health needs. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing direct patient care, including vital sign monitoring, phlebotomy, and medication administration.
- Assisting patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitoring patient behavior and responding to changes in their condition.
- Collaborating with nursing staff to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Providing emotional support and counseling to patients and their families.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a psychiatric or mental health environment.
- Basic life support certification (BLS) and SAMA certification (level 1-4).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
