Production Coordinator

As a Production Coordinator supporting the Manufacturing Team, you will be trusted to assist and support the Supervisor in the planning/organizing of daily activities and schedules of production associates who are engaged in the production of medical device products and/or components at Houston, Texas US.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Managing or assisting with managing various production activities (e.g., assembly, material forming/shaping, processing, treating, or packaging, etc.) including: planning, directing, and monitoring production to meet established specifications, schedules, volume/cost/wastage targets, and quality standards.
  • Liaising with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply & Logistics, Sales, etc. as input to developing production schedules and allocating labor/capital resources
  • Planning, prioritizing, and managing production line maintenance/downtime to minimize disruptions.
  • Leads and implement continuous improvement processes within assigned area, utilizing industry known lean manufacturing principles.
  • Ensures regulatory compliance and associates training needs are maintained.
  • Provides input and correction as needed in accordance to Alcon policies.
  • Provides cross shift feedback on key performance indicators.
  • Manages conflict and deal effectively with others in a diverse work place.
  • Operates in accordance with established policies and procedures to meet production commitments within Alcon's standards (production, quality, cost, conduct, and safety).
  • Troubleshoot problems regarding product quality and equipment within assigned areas.
  • Faces problems with confidence and assurance, consistently excels in training, leading and motivating people.
What You'll Bring to Alcon
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • 3 Years of Relevant Experience
  • Work hours: Monday through Wednesday and every other Thursday from 4:00a.m. to 4:00p.m.
