Job Title: Finance Specialist

Join the International Rescue Committee (IRC) team as a Finance Specialist and contribute to the organization's mission to provide humanitarian aid and support to vulnerable populations.

Job Summary:

The Finance Specialist will work closely with the Finance team to ensure the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, management of financial data, and provision of financial information to stakeholders. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with IRC's accounting policies and procedures, as well as generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Process and review financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Manage and track financial data, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Provide financial information and analysis to stakeholders, including management, donors, and grantors.
  • Collaborate with the Finance team to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Support the Finance Manager in the preparation of financial reports and statements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in nonprofit accounting or financial management.
  • Strong computer-based accounting skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
Working Environment:

The Finance Specialist will work in a standard office environment with a dynamic and collaborative team.
