Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Job Summary:

The Tlingit Haida Tribal Business Corporation (THTBC) is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing design and construction projects at the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA) and auxiliary sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform project management duties for the USAFA, including administrative tasks.
  • Serve as an in-house Electrical Engineering subject matter expert for the Design & Engineering team.
  • Consult with other subject matter experts on the Design & Engineering team for non-electrical issues.
  • Be a technical advisor to and coordinate with government and finance managers and contracting officers.
  • Consult with KIRA operations, maintenance, programming, real property, and environmental teams.
  • Research project requirements and develop scope of work for projects of all sizes and complexity.
  • Consult with clients to determine functional and spatial requirements.
  • Prepare reports and presentations evaluating project alternatives.
  • Support and administer design packages prepared by outside AE firms.
  • Prepare complete in-house design packages for selected projects.
  • Develop procurement documents and packages for government and contracting approval.
  • Support pre-bid process with site visits and answer requests for information from contractors.
  • Provide technical evaluations and design reviews of Contractor proposals and submittals.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABET accredited university program.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) - Electrical with active Colorado license.
  • 4 years in-depth experience with electrical engineering and design, commercial power distribution, lighting systems, direct digital controls, info tech data and communication systems, security and fire alarm systems, cathodic protection, and lightning protection.
  • Experience in project management, facility retrofit, new construction, code compliance, cost estimating, and sustainable design.
  • Strong time management, organization, and communication skills.
  • Analytical abilities necessary to manage complex projects and contract matters.
  • Proficient use of MS Windows, MS Office, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently or on a team and be able to switch tasks on short notice.
