Job Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to execute design and construction projects at a prestigious government institution and auxiliary sites.

Responsibilities
  • Perform project management duties, providing administrative support to the client.
  • Serve as an in-house electrical engineering subject matter expert for the design and engineering team.
  • Consult with other subject matter experts on the design and engineering team for non-electrical issues.
  • Provide technical advice and coordination with government and finance managers, as well as contracting officers.
  • Consult with operations, maintenance, programming, real property, and environmental teams.
  • Research project requirements and develop scope of work for projects of all sizes and complexity.
  • Consult with clients to determine functional and spatial requirements.
  • Prepare reports and presentations evaluating project alternatives.
  • Support and administer design packages prepared by outside architectural and engineering firms.
  • Prepare complete in-house design packages for selected projects.
  • Develop procurement documents and packages for government and contracting approval.
  • Support the pre-bid process with site visits and answer requests for information from contractors.
  • Provide technical evaluations and design reviews of contractor proposals and submittals.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of electrical design and engineering experience.
  • PE Colorado license a plus.
  • Experience with commercial power distribution, lighting systems, direct digital controls, IT data and communication systems, security and fire alarm systems, and/or cathodic protection and lightning protection.
  • Autocad, Bluebeam, and/or Revit proficiency a plus.
  • Must have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABET accredited university program.
