Job Title: Special Inspector

ESP Associates, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Special Inspector to join our team. As a Special Inspector, you will be responsible for performing inspections and testing services related to soils, foundations, retaining walls, reinforced concrete, structural masonry, fireproofing, and post-tensioned concrete.

Responsibilities:
  • Review and understand project-related drawings, specifications, and applicable building codes.
  • Perform Special Inspections in the field for project document and code compliance.
  • Conduct routine and advanced field tests in accordance with ASTM, ACI, AASHTO, DOT, or other standards.
  • Document observations and inspections of construction, including discrepancy notices for non-compliant items.
  • Communicate effectively with ESP project staff and project construction teams.
  • Report inspections and test results through ESP's field data collection software.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or Associate Degree required.
  • Three or more years of experience in inspection and construction testing of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials.
  • ACI Field Grade I Certification.
  • ICC Certifications (Must possess at least one of the following): ICC Soils, ICC Reinforced Concrete, ICC Structural Masonry, ICC Spray-Applied Fireproofing, ICC Structural Steel and Bolting.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work in varying weather conditions.
  • NICET Certifications and/or Post Tension Institute (PTI) Level I or II certifications will be considered beneficial in the role.
  • Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company's driving (MVR) policy.
