Job Summary
The Physician Assistant will provide medical services and health education to patients under the supervision of a physician sponsor. This role requires a strong foundation in medical knowledge and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. The Physician Assistant will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to assess, diagnose, and treat patients in a variety of settings, including clinics, hospitals, and long-term care facilities.
Responsibilities
- Provides medical services and health education to patients under the supervision of a physician sponsor.
- Assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients in a variety of settings, including clinics, hospitals, and long-term care facilities.
- Works collaboratively with the healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Develops and implements individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Provides education and support to patients and their families to promote healthy behaviors and disease prevention.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Licensure as a Physician Assistant and ability to practice in the state of South Dakota.
- Federal and State DEA Certification is required for South Dakota.
- National Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) required.
- ATLS and ACLS certifications required.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time position with varied shifts, including every 4th weekend and holiday. The Physician Assistant will work 80 hours every 2 weeks, with every third week night and every 4th weekend call time.
