Entry-Level Community Planner

Halff is seeking a talented and motivated Entry-Level Community Planner to join our Houston, Texas office. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of planning efforts, including comprehensive plans, parks and recreation planning, active transportation and mobility planning, and urban design and land planning.

Responsibilities:
  • Support senior staff on projects, including public engagement, plan development, report writing, and document production
  • Prepare maps and graphics to communicate complex planning concepts
  • Conduct research and produce project deliverables
  • Coordinate with client representatives and confidently interact with the public
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in community/urban planning, landscape architecture, architecture, or a closely related field
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with computer programs (GIS, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office programs)
  • Ability to produce attractive maps, graphics, and written documents
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Up to 5 years of experience, but recent graduates will also be considered
  • Experience in both the public and private sector
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and highly motivated
  • Strong writing and graphic skills
