Position Summary:

The role of the Regulatory Compliance and Product Development Specialist is crucial in maintaining adherence to regulatory requirements concerning packaging, labeling, and nutritional data. This position also plays a vital role in supporting product innovation, managing cost analysis, and collaborating across various departments to ensure successful product introductions.

Key Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure that all packaging complies with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Validate the accuracy of labeling, ingredient declarations, and nutritional information.
  • Ensure adherence to USDA standards and guidelines.

Product Development:

  • Collaborate with suppliers to gather essential product specifications, documentation, and certifications.
  • Monitor pricing, availability, and quality of raw materials.
  • Request and oversee samples for new product development initiatives.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to guarantee timely delivery and compliance with quality standards.
  • Conduct testing and compile verified heating instructions for new product offerings.

Costing and Pricing:

  • Calculate the costs associated with new products, factoring in yields, ingredient expenses, and production costs.
  • Analyze the impact of yields on overall product costing.
  • Work with the team to enhance recipes for both cost efficiency and quality.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Engage closely with sales, marketing, production, and quality assurance teams.
  • Facilitate interdepartmental communication to ensure seamless product launches.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify and implement opportunities for enhancing processes in regulatory compliance and product development.
  • Adopt best practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Regulatory Affairs, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in regulatory compliance and product development within the food sector.
  • Comprehensive understanding of USDA regulations and compliance standards.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with a background in costing and pricing strategies.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and knowledgeable in regulatory compliance software.

Working Conditions:

  • This is a full-time position.
