We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Flight Avionics Responsible Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems. This position will be based in Melbourne, FL, and will be responsible for integrating aircraft cockpit systems and components, including Flight Management Computer (FMC), Primary Flight Displays (PFDs), Control Display Units (CDUs), Flight Navigation and Guidance systems, Position, Navigation, Timing (PNT) equipment, and other various avionics systems.
Key Responsibilities- Integration of aircraft cockpit systems and components
- Requirements development, analysis, maturation, and implementation
- Document designs using detailed schematics, diagrams, and specifications
- Assist in the preparation and support of the verification of aircraft avionics and Prime Mission Equipment installations and aircraft certification documents
- Provide support for the development of system safety documents
- Technical management of program strategic partners and suppliers
- Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university AND 3 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. (STEM) AND 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering
- Experience working with Military Subsystems or Avionics Systems Environmental Qualification (EQ)
- Active, In-Scope, DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted/renewed within the past 6 years
- Ability to obtain and maintain DOD Top Secret Security Clearance
- Special program access after start of employment
- Active Top Secret clearance
- Experience with trade studies, documenting subsystem architectures, analyzing performance, and evaluating Technology Readiness Level (TRL)
- Experience with system modeling and requirements management tools
- Experience with Military Navigation and Navigation Aids
- Integration and/or Design experience with avionics systems as applied to military aircraft
Northrop Grumman offers a competitive salary range of $92,600 - $139,000, as well as a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company-paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
