Join our team at an award-winning Community-based hospital as an MRI Tech - Evening - FTE. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a Trauma II setting, providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our imaging department.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform routine and special procedure imaging, preparing patients for procedures and assisting radiologists as needed.
- Prepare, operate, and care for equipment, adhering to established standards of care and pursuing continuing education to stay up-to-date with industry developments.
- Assume responsibility for assigned areas and duties, adhering to customer service programs and exercising professional judgment in the performance of procedures.
- Provide patient care, including preparing and positioning patients correctly for specific examinations and reviewing completed scans for quality and completeness.
- Assist physicians during procedures, perform quality assurance and calibrations as needed, and maintain the cleanliness of all areas, equipment, and accessories.
- Print patient CDs if required, perform routine office duties, and notify front desk staff upon exam completion.
- Show radiologists images and call reports to attending physicians, documenting communication if necessary.
- May be assigned as an instructor or preceptor, introducing themselves and educating patients or family members regarding the examination ordered.
- Should be knowledgeable and skilled in providing care based on the age, physical, and psychosocial stature of patient populations.
- Attend staff meetings and in-services, performing all other related duties as assigned.
- Must graduate from an accredited radiography school or hospital-based program.
- Technologist must be certified by the American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT) and become ARRT MR certified within 1 year of hire date.
- Continuing education requirements need to be upheld to meet the standards set forth by governing bodies.
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association is required or must be completed within 90 days of hire.
- IV certification preferred or by completion of 6-month orientation.
- MRI safety certification level 2 required yearly.
