MRI Technologist

Overview
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with either 8 hours a day, 5 days a week or 10 hours a day, 4 days a week, including a 1-hour lunch break.
Location: Keesler Air Force Base, MS
Pay Rate: $24.00 - $26.63 per hour, plus $4.41 per hour for overtime

Responsibilities- Provide Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologists for patients as scheduled by the Government.
- Perform a variety of MRI/MRA scans of the body in accordance with department protocols and supervising radiologist directions.
- Ensure patients are properly screened for safety concerns and/or contraindications for MRI exams, and report concerns to the supervising radiologist or requested healthcare provider.
- Ensure proper preventive and corrective maintenance for the MRI scanning unit, and report any patient's need of immediate medical attention.
- Findings from emergency response shall be immediately reported to the officer in charge of the MR Imaging facility or his authorized representative.
- Attend and participate in all meetings, staff conferences, and other appropriate professional activities as required by the supervisor.
- Ensure that all MRI scans are performed in accordance with established protocols and only upon the order of a person who is lawfully authorized to diagnose, treat, and prescribe.
- Refer any ambiguous procedures or requisitions to the director of the MRI facility.
- Respect a patient's right to refuse the examination, and log the incident in the scanner logbook and bring it to the attention of the attending radiologist.
Degree/Education: Certificate
Certifications: Basic Life Support, Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of the Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
Experience: Three (3) years of experience within the last five (5) years on MR imaging with any form of MRI equipment
Board Certification: None
