Position Summary:
The Division of Finance and Administration (DFA) is dedicated to providing exceptional services and support to a diverse community of over 50,000 students, faculty, and staff. Facilities Management plays a crucial role in this mission by ensuring a clean, safe, and conducive environment for all campus activities.
As a Senior Custodian, you will be responsible for performing a variety of skilled and semi-skilled custodial tasks across the UCI campus. This includes operating cleaning machinery and maintaining cleanliness in designated areas. You will also oversee the security of your assigned locations and manage master keys, while potentially leading a small team of custodians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
- Utilize various cleaning equipment such as floor machines, carpet extractors, and vacuums.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and proper handling of cleaning chemicals.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning tasks and report any maintenance needs.
- Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, and staff.
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Experience in custodial operations and specialized cleaning techniques.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with safety practices in the use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of campus infrastructure and operations.
- Bilingual skills, particularly in English and Spanish.
- Experience working night shifts.
Special Conditions:
Must be available for a 5-day workweek during specified hours, with the possibility of overtime. A valid California Driver License is required, and participation in the DMV Pull Notice Program is mandatory. The final candidate will undergo a background check.
