About This Role: As an Advanced Threat Protection Expert at Palo Alto Networks, you will play a key role in identifying and mitigating complex security threats in our customers' networks. You will collaborate with our technical sales team to drive solutions using our market-leading security products and services.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Security Threat Identification: Identify and mitigate complex security threats in our customers' networks.
  • Solution Development: Collaborate with our technical sales team to develop and deliver solutions using our market-leading security products and services.
  • Customer Education: Provide training and support to customers and partners on modern network security best practices.
  • New Business Opportunities: Proactively discover and qualify new business opportunities and support technical pre-sales activities to closure.
  • Install Base Expansion: Strategically expand our customer base within existing accounts.
  • Partner Relationships: Foster strong relationships with channel partners and effectively enable them to leverage our products and services.
  • Evaluation Process Management: Collaborate with customers to create evaluation test plans and manage the evaluation process to a successful conclusion.
  • Technical Requirements Gathering: Understand and document customer technical requirements and identify product gaps.
  • Competitive Differentiation: Understand and effectively communicate the strengths of our platform compared to competitive technologies.
  • Support Escalation Assistance: Help manage support escalations with customers to closure, if necessary.

About You:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Experience: 6+ years of experience as an SE, Systems Integrator, or customer managing large/complex security infrastructures.
  • Skills: Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills; ability to analyze complex multivariate problems and use a systematic approach to gain quick resolution.
  • Certifications: Relevant Palo Alto Networks certifications (e.g., PCSNE, PSE, ACE) and industry certifications (e.g., SANS, CISSP, CCIE).

Salary: $130,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on location and experience.

Location: San Diego, CA, with extensive domestic travel required and occasional international travel.
