Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Support Specialist to join our team at Concentra Career Choice. As a Medical Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our medical team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine medical procedures and testing under the supervision of treating clinicians.
  • Prepare patients for physical examinations, including taking vital signs and performing required testing.
  • Triage and dispositions all patients, ensuring timely and effective care.
  • Assist providers during examinations and treatments, maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Apply bandages, dressings, and splints as ordered by treating clinicians, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Dispense medications and appliances as ordered by treating clinicians, adhering to state regulations and company policies.
  • Perform DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing, maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Maintain and operate medical devices and equipment, ensuring proper calibration and record-keeping.
  • Complete quality assurance activities on equipment and medical devices, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Manage patient flow and volume, maintaining a high level of customer service and communication.
  • Perform clerical tasks in both front and back offices, ensuring accuracy in documentation and record-keeping.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited school (credentials in the state of employment in accordance with state requirements and applicable regulations).
  • Working knowledge of occupational medicine requirements (state specific).
  • Previous medical office experience preferred.
  • Ability to make decisions or solve problems using logic and critical thinking.
  • Outstanding customer service skills and ability to deal with people in a tactful and professional manner.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information (including HIPAA and PHI) in accordance with federal and state laws and company policies.
