Job Overview

Your Responsibilities:

  • Implement controls to guarantee the accuracy and integrity of employee compensation data.
  • Ensure timely and precise payroll processing in accordance with legal standards and organizational policies.
  • Handle manual payment requests and execute specialized payroll calculations, including retroactive adjustments and leave accruals.
  • Update and maintain payroll information, such as direct deposits, deductions, and incentive payments.
  • Oversee and coordinate payroll processing timelines, and conduct audits of pre- and post-payroll activities.
  • Apply organizational policies, collective agreements, and legal requirements to payroll functions with sound judgment.
  • Address inquiries from HR personnel and employees regarding payroll issues, and assist with tax form data and local tax deductions as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain Excel reports, and perform general ledger assessments related to payroll transactions.
  • Conduct data analysis and evaluate new system enhancements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with computerized payroll systems and relevant payroll legislation, including federal and state wage and hour regulations.
  • Capability to perform basic to intermediate mathematical calculations and detailed evaluations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong organizational and analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Word applications.
  • Detail-oriented with strong interpersonal skills, capable of researching, analyzing, and resolving payroll-related concerns.
