Job Title: Bacteriology Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Bacteriology Analyst to join our team at Eurofins USA Environment Testing. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for preparing and analyzing environmental samples according to scientific methodology and validating/reviewing data for accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and analyze environmental samples using scientific methodology
  • Accurately enter and report analytical data using the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
  • Perform independent data reviews for other analysts' work
  • Perform analysis of reference materials, proficiency samples, and other quality control samples as needed
  • Maintain client service and provide technical support as needed
  • Assist the Quality Assurance (QA) manager in development, implementation, and data collection of QA processes for different analytical tests
  • Perform confirmation of lab results as needed by client services personnel
  • Perform and complete all analytical testing QA-related tasks as needed
  • Assist in pursuing, receiving, and maintaining necessary laboratory accreditation
  • Maintain and update all necessary Training and QA documents onsite as necessary
  • Coordinate and manage projects according to their rush status and due time for timely delivery
  • Assist coworkers on analytical questions as necessary
  • Participate in Lean initiatives and projects when called upon
  • Follow company policies and procedures
  • Manage and maintain the inventory of resale supply items and laboratory consumables and take necessary steps to reorder supplies as needed
  • Manage and dispose of analyzed samples as needed
  • Train new mycology or bacteriology or asbestos or other analytical testing analysts as needed
  • Establish and maintain laboratory stock culture and reference samples
  • Perform root cause analysis and determine and implement corrective actions for errors and issues as necessary
  • Maintain all equipment properly and coordinate servicing of all equipment used in the laboratory as needed
  • Support other departments within the lab (mycology, asbestos, bacteriology, and other) when appropriate and as needed
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a closely related science
  • 1-2 years of work experience in a laboratory setting
  • Knowledge of environmental methodologies, general regulatory requirements, analytical laboratory techniques, and laboratory QA requirements
  • Knowledge of computers, spreadsheets, and databases

This is a full-time role with a competitive hourly rate ranging from $18-22 per hour, depending on experience. The position offers benefits, PTO, and a company-matching 401(k) plan.
