Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting & Finance Professional to join our team at J Street. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the efficient management of our financial transactions.

Reporting to the VP of Finance and Administration, you will be responsible for performing various accounting tasks to support the smooth operation of our organization. The ideal candidate is experienced in Sage Intacct, Salesforce, Eventbrite, and Microsoft Office or Google Suites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Record day-to-day financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
  • Maintain and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers.
  • Prepare and process invoices, bills, and bank deposits in a timely manner.
  • Monitor overdue accounts and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Assist with credit card reconciliations (Amex) and employee expense reimbursements.
  • Reconcile bank and investment statements and ensure accuracy of financial data.
  • Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis.
  • Provide support with audits and required IRS filings, such as 900 and 1099.
  • Ad hoc financial tasks and projects as needed.
Requirements
  • 0-1 years of experience preferably at a non-profit.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
Benefits
  • This is a full-time exempt position, with occasional work outside traditional work hours on an as-needed basis.
  • The salary is $50,000 - $60,000.
  • Per J Street's Collective Bargaining Agreement, pay and title are commensurate with experience and according to pay bands outlined in our CBA.
  • This position is expected to be in person at least 2 to 3 days a week.
