Job Overview:
The Clinical Nurse (RN) serves as a vital caregiver who takes on the responsibility and accountability for evaluating, planning, executing, and assessing the care of patients.
The staff RN employs the nursing process through the integration of technology, therapeutic interventions, evidence-based practices, and collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
Scope of Responsibilities:
As a Clinical Nurse, you understand that each day presents unique challenges, which is why you must be adept at:
- Assessing, recognizing, and addressing both the psychological and physical needs of patients.
- Promoting high-quality care with the best interests of patients and their families in mind.
- Communicating with compassion and effectiveness.
- Assisting in the development of personalized treatment plans.
- Adhering to evaluation, treatment, and documentation standards.
- Supervising care provided by LPNs and/or CNAs.
- Participating in clinical team discussions.
- Following hospital, regulatory, and professional guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Associate of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution; Bachelor of Science in Nursing within four years.
- Current RN license in Colorado.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Preferred: One year of nursing experience in a similar environment.
Ongoing need for the employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, and identify equipment and supplies. Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors require verbal communication as well as the ability to hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, especially during emergencies.
Manual dexterity of hands and fingers is necessary to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing necessary information, and preparing medications.
Expected to lift and utilize a full range of movement to transfer patients, which includes bending to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Responsibilities may involve pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items, and navigating crowded and busy environments.
May be required to stand in a stationary position for extended periods.
