Job Summary

Piedmont Urgent Care by Wellstreet is seeking a highly skilled Patient Service Representative to join our team. As the first point of contact for patients, this role plays a vital role in ensuring a positive experience for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and visitors, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Analyze health insurance benefits, verify eligibility, and communicate payment policies and billing processes to patients.
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area, ensuring a welcoming environment for patients.
  • Perform various administrative tasks, adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • Determine and collect patient financial responsibilities, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Support the practice manager and other staff members as needed, providing overall support for physicians and office operations.
  • Document patient history, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
  • Perform office procedures, including general administrative duties, and document Electronic Medical Records (EMRs).
  • Assure compliance with healthcare regulatory requirements and maintain accurate records.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prefer at least one year of experience in a medical office or emergency room setting.
  • Urgent care experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work 8am to 8pm, 3 days a week, rotating weekends and holidays.
  • Experience with insurance eligibility and co-pay determination, with certification and experience as a medical assistant a plus.
