Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer/Project Manager to join our team at the City of Sheboygan, WI. As a key member of our Public Works department, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and supervising the construction of various infrastructure projects, including storm and sanitary sewers, streets and alleys, docks and dock improvements, municipal structures, and traffic and park improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, design, and supervise the preparation of plans, specifications, cost estimates, maps, and drawings for municipal engineering work.
  • Act as technical advisor to Common Council committees, citizens' groups, other City departments, and the public.
  • Manage and oversee infrastructure projects, including field changes as necessary.
  • Assist in the development and updating of NPDES Stormwater and Sanitary Permit requirement procedures and planning.
  • Review and approve grading plans, erosion control plans, sanitary sewer plans, and stormwater management plans for compliance with City standards.
  • Inspect and determine compliance with approved plans for field implementation of erosion control and stormwater management measures.
  • Supervise subordinates and direct compliance with all City ordinances and regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional civil engineering experience demonstrating increasing responsibility, including supervisory experience.
  • Registration as a professional engineer in the State of Wisconsin, or ability to obtain registration within six (6) months.
  • Possession of a valid State Motor Vehicle Operator's license in good standing.
