A prominent General Contractor, located in Raleigh, is seeking a Senior Construction Superintendent to enhance their team. The upcoming projects are within a 50-mile radius of Raleigh.

Specializing in commercial and retail developments, the projects range from $25 million to $65 million, with a significant focus on ground-up construction.

Despite being a relatively new firm, they have undertaken high-profile projects and established an excellent reputation, offering the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and take initiative in your role.

Client Overview

Our client is a leading general contractor in Raleigh, North Carolina, with a rich history in the Carolinas spanning over a century. They construct K-12 educational facilities, office and retail spaces, as well as higher education buildings. The company has a well-established presence in the Raleigh market and is expanding its team due to growth. Recognized as one of the best places to work, they maintain strong relationships with subcontractors in the area and are looking for a Senior Construction Superintendent to join their accomplished team.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Construction Superintendent will be accountable for:

  • Overseeing daily construction operations and ensuring quality control of all subcontractors.
  • Coordinating field efforts among various trades to ensure timely and profitable project completion in accordance with contract specifications, legal, and safety standards.
  • Effectively communicating relevant project updates to management.
  • Participating in weekly meetings with subcontractors and project stakeholders.
  • Monitoring site safety protocols.
  • Tracking labor resources and completing daily reports.
  • Leading quality assurance efforts.
  • Managing field office documentation.
  • Creating and maintaining look-ahead schedules.
  • Monitoring and coordinating site deliveries.
  • Ensuring all materials, equipment, and installations comply with approved submittals and contract documents.

Candidate Profile

The ideal Senior Construction Superintendent will possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience leading projects valued at $15 million or more.
  • Strong knowledge of scheduling, estimating, and cost management principles.
  • Basic familiarity with project management software.
  • A mature professional demeanor with sound judgment.
  • A self-motivated, entrepreneurial spirit with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Excellent time management skills, adaptability to manage multiple priorities, and a keen attention to detail.
