Position Overview

The Chief Medical Officer is accountable for overseeing the medical services associated with health plans, ensuring that the organization adheres to optimal medical practices while maintaining cost efficiency. This role encompasses the daily leadership of the medical management team and the establishment of medical policies that align with the organization's goals.

Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role include:

  1. Reviewing and revising existing medical policies while formulating new strategies in response to evolving healthcare regulations.
  2. Guiding and executing both clinical and non-clinical initiatives that enhance healthcare quality, reduce costs, and improve patient outcomes.
  3. Identifying innovative solutions to enhance operational effectiveness and service quality.
  4. Acting as a key resource and advisor across various departments, participating in committees, and representing the organization in external engagements.
  5. Ensuring the medical management team provides timely and effective support to both members and healthcare providers.
Qualifications
  1. Board certification from the American Board of Medical Specialties is required, where applicable.
  2. A minimum of 10 years of clinical experience or a combination of education and experience that provides a comparable background.
  3. An active, unrestricted medical license is mandatory for practice. The candidate must be situated in a state or territory of the United States during utilization reviews or appeals, excluding military bases or embassies.

Bonus: Target 22.5% and eligibility for stock options.
