Job Title: Control Center Operator I

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Control Center Operator I to join our team at Dorsett Controls. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for monitoring and controlling the automation systems at Fort Eisenhower Military Base, with a focus on the HVAC base-wide system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor alarms and respond to issues in the control room
  • Answer phone calls and troubleshoot problems
  • Create service orders for trouble calls and dispatch Automation Technicians as needed
  • Log and track trouble calls and alarms in the Daily Log
  • Prepare reports from database and create point-to-point spreadsheets for Automation Technicians
  • Develop and maintain building set points and time-of-day scheduling for energy management and human comfort
  • Monitor utility prices and alert management to opportunities for peak load shaving
  • Take appropriate actions during utility load shed events
  • Monitor and track natural gas consumption during service curtailment periods
  • React properly to electrical power outages and document events for after-action reports
  • Identify areas for process improvement and discuss solutions with supervisor

Requirements:

  • Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
  • 6-12 months of related experience and/or training
  • Knowledge of Internet software and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and speak effectively before groups
  • Mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure

Work Environment:

The work environment is typically quiet, with occasional contact with other departments or outside the company. The employee will work autonomously without direct supervision and will be responsible for maintaining confidentiality of product costs, individual wage and salary rates, and schedules.
