- Assess residents for swallowing and cognitive impairments.
- Assist residents in achieving their cognitive and swallowing objectives.
- Educate residents and their caregivers on relevant therapies.
- Deliver skilled speech and language therapy evaluations and create personalized treatment plans to enhance client independence.
- Implement augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems for those with significant expressive and comprehension disorders.
- Provide training and insights to clients, families, caregivers, and other professionals as a subject matter expert.
- Collaborate with other professionals for diagnostic swallowing assessments as directed by medical staff.
- Exhibit proficient technical skills in accordance with current Speech Therapy standards.
- Communicate any changes in residents' conditions effectively.
- Maintain accurate billing records and clinical documentation.
- Address family inquiries and concerns promptly.
- Coordinate training with Restorative Nursing and other care staff.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of residents by preventing abuse or neglect.
