Utilization Reviewer Job Description

Brooke Glen Behavioral Hospital, a leading psychiatric services provider in the Philadelphia area, is seeking a skilled Utilization Reviewer to facilitate clinical pertinence reviews on all patient admissions and continued stays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate clinical pertinence reviews on all patient admissions and continued stays
  • Complete certifications/interfaces with managed care organizations, external reviewers, and other payors
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements
  • Masters degree in social work, mental health/behavioral sciences, or related field
  • Registered Nurse
  • Experience in patient assessment, treatment planning, case management, or utilization review
  • Communication skills with external review organizations or comparable entities
  • Knowledge of psychotropic medication and SI/IS admission and continued stay criteria
  • Assertiveness in advocating for patients
