About the Role

Holcim US, a leading supplier of quality construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a 2nd shift Plant Mechanic to support operations at Rockville Crushed Stone in Rockville, Maryland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide variety of fixed electrical equipment, mechanical equipment, systems, and machinery.
  • Maintain, install, and repair mechanical equipment and machinery.
  • Inspect the condition and operation of plant equipment and perform necessary repairs and adjustments.
  • Report required repairs or other findings to the Area Manager.
  • Adhere to all safety, environmental, and company policies and procedures in completing daily tasks.
  • Complete all required paperwork in a timely fashion.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on plant equipment, including handling welding repairs.
  • Conduct routine inspections of plant and mobile equipment and report findings to the Area Manager.
  • Prepare plant reports as required and maintain an inventory of regularly used repair supplies or equipment.
  • Assist personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
  • Respond to emergency situations as needed and/or assigned for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working in a plant or industrial environment.
  • Proficient in hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Certified Welder (CW, CW, CWE, or CWRT).
  • Knowledge of hot work permit systems protocol.
  • OSHA certified.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Excellent oral communication skills with close attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions without limitations.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
  • Reliable transportation.
