Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

The Mechanical Engineer will play a pivotal role in the development of biotech instrumentation and scientific instrumentation. This position will be responsible for mechanical design, testing, and documentation. The successful candidate will lead the planning, documentation, prototyping, and testing of designs, and will occasionally be hands-on with prototyping. Collaboration with vendors for technical updates on manufactured components and troubleshooting issues is crucial. The candidate will also work closely with other team members and multi-discipline teams in the overall product development process. The entire process from initial concept, through design, testing, and fielding on multiple efforts will be part of the responsibilities. Additionally, the candidate will support the systems requirements creation and specification creation for new and existing products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop mechanical systems for biotech instrumentation and scientific instrumentation
  • Test and document designs to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Collaborate with vendors and other team members to ensure successful product development
  • Support the creation of systems requirements and specifications for new and existing products
Requirements:
  • Experience with mechanical and electromechanical systems design with Solidworks or another 3D CAD tool
  • Experience with medical device or scientific instrument design and development
  • Experience with precision applications (mechatronics, precision motion, robotics, fluidics, etc)
  • Experience with mechanisms, robotics, moving mechanical systems
  • Experience with tolerance stack ups and/or GD&T
