Director of Research Professor of Clinical Pediatrics-CHLA

The Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Professor of Clinical Pediatrics and Director of Research in the Division of Hospital Medicine at Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
Key Responsibilities- Establish and lead the research agenda for the Division of Hospital Medicine, promoting and facilitating research within the division.
- Provide mentorship and faculty development for scholarly activity, interacting with interdisciplinary researchers and physician scientists to fund, design, and carry out medical research.
- Collaborate with hospital-wide initiatives and work with the Division Chief to achieve research goals.
- MD or MD/PhD preferred, with additional research training for MD-only candidates.
- Experience commensurate at the Associate Professor or Full Professor level, with promotion opportunities planned for Assistant Professors with research experience.
- Training in education, clinical, quality improvement, and outcomes research methodology, with a history of extramural funded research programs in topics related to the care of hospitalized children.
- Successful track record in mentoring junior faculty and trainees, with experience in leadership and management of a research team.
- Successful track record of grant funding, with a preference for K award and/or R-series funding.
- A competitive annual base salary range.
- Academic appointment through USC Keck School of Medicine at a level appropriate to training and experience.
