Heavy Duty Truck Repair Mechanic

The Larson Group Peterbilt is seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Truck Repair Mechanic to join our team. This position performs all functions of a fully qualified heavy-duty truck repair mechanic under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:
  • Performs diagnostic/mechanical repairs on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components. Testing when completed to ensure repairs are completed properly.
  • Trains new technicians.
  • Follows safety rules and company policies always.
  • Communicates to Service Foreman regarding parts that are not available for repairs.
  • Downloads and saves to Paccar Solutions/Decisiv: all pictures, engine files (before and after repair), and diagnostic test used to perform repair.
  • Records in detail, the description of all trouble shooting steps and results of repairs made and any other information about the repair.
  • Saves all warrantable parts. Tags, washes, boxes, and turns in to correct location. Labels the box with repair order number, S/N, customer name, and date.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area. Cleans and returns tools used.
  • Advises the following shift's technicians with any special instructions or concerns you found when repairing truck.
  • Maintains efficiency and productivity goals set forth by Service Manager.
  • Maintains Peterbilt online training percentage of 95%.
  • Obtains Class A or B CDL and retains during employment.
  • Performs other duties and repairs as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Should possess a High School diploma.
  • A college degree or a certificate or degree from a trade school is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience in a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Must Possess or be able to obtain a Class A CDL.
  • Motor Vehicle Record adheres to TLG MVR Guidelines.
