Job Title: Mobile Diesel Service Technician

At Rush Enterprises, we are seeking a highly skilled Mobile Diesel Service Technician to join our team. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for maintaining our fleet of vehicles and providing exceptional customer service to our clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks, including filling fuel tanks, checking oil levels, and ensuring required inspections are completed and documented.
  • Manage inventory control on the service truck and ensure it is properly stocked.
  • Report to the Service Manager and follow daily assignments.
  • Be available for after-hours service calls and maintain an open work schedule.
  • Inventory and maintain supplied tools for diesel engine truck maintenance and associated equipment.
  • Diagnose malfunctions and plan work procedures by reading job orders and observing vehicle operation.
  • Utilize diagnostic equipment and technical information to determine and perform correct repair procedures.
  • Perform preventative maintenance work as requested and document necessary paperwork or enter into the mobile service program.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and foster positive customer relations.
  • Advise customers and/or service writers of any repairs or services needed within the next 3 months.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 2 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
  • Current and valid CDL and Medical card as required by the FMVS.
  • Mechanical aptitude and technical ability are essential.
