Job Title: Animal Care Attendant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Care Attendant to join our team at The Barker's Pet Center. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our furry guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the mission, vision, and values of Destination Pet by providing exceptional care to our pet guests.
  • Sanitize and disinfect pet enclosures and general boarding areas to maintain a clean and healthy environment.
  • Provide clean bedding and fresh water to each pet guest, ensuring their comfort and happiness.
  • Accurately monitor and record the consumption and elimination of each pet guest, reporting any concerns to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
  • Visually inspect pet guests throughout the day to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment by checking and picking up excrement from enclosures and other areas as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain pet belongings, cleaning them as needed and ensuring their safe return to owners.
  • Perform daily laundering of pet bedding and towels to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
Requirements:
  • Must be a pet enthusiast with a passion for animal care and welfare.
  • Professional animal care or kennel experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Displays a professional manner at all times, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, and be able to lift 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently, and handle dogs on leashes.
  • Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander, and excretions.
