Job Overview

Summary:

Accountable for orchestrating, scheduling, and overseeing all on-site operations to ensure the successful execution of projects within the designated timeline and budget. The Field Operations Manager leads teams and equipment, coordinates the implementation of all trade work, enforces effective construction safety protocols on-site, and guarantees adherence to project timelines. Additionally, this role involves maintaining the job site office and actively supporting the (Senior) Project Manager during project completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversees and directs all construction operations.
  2. Guides field personnel to ensure project completion aligns with the schedule, budget, and quality standards as per original designs and specifications.
  3. Maintains project timelines, identifies challenges, and implements solutions.
  4. Procures materials and arranges inspections as required throughout the construction process.
  5. Interprets project plans and specifications accurately.
  6. Fosters positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and team members.
  7. Assists the (Senior) Project Manager in preparing, scheduling, and supervising the final punch list completion.
  8. Advocates for job site safety, promotes safe work practices, and addresses job site hazards promptly.
  9. Keeps the job site organized, including the construction office.
  10. Manages and updates plan reproduction status.
  11. Creates and maintains a project log of daily activities.
  12. Engages in effective communication with subcontractors and vendors.
  13. Supports the (Senior) Project Manager in developing subcontractor bid packages.
  14. Facilitates the transmission of addenda and other bid information to subcontractors.
  15. Collaborates with the (Senior) Project Manager to enhance pricing strategies with subcontractors.
  16. Plans, coordinates, and supervises on-site operations. Manages labor and subcontractors to ensure productivity, efficient material and equipment usage, and compliance with contractual obligations.
  17. Defines and delegates responsibilities while setting subcontractor goals. Develops and maintains comprehensive operational plans for the project duration.
  18. Coordinates site testing and inspection activities.
  19. Collaborates with the project team on scheduling, engineering, material control, and job productivity. Monitors project status, schedules, productivity, and costs. Reviews and provides insights on job costs and projections.
  20. Develops a thorough understanding of contract plans and specifications.
  21. Inspects field conditions to identify issues, inaccuracies, and cost-saving opportunities. Takes corrective actions as necessary.
  22. Reviews work for compliance with contract plans and specifications, identifies deficiencies, and implements corrective measures as needed.
  23. Adheres to and promotes company safety initiatives to maintain a secure work environment. Identifies job site safety hazards and takes necessary corrective actions to mitigate them.
  24. Maintains strong client relations.

Qualifications:

  1. At least 3 years of supervisory experience in commercial construction.
  2. A Bachelor's degree is preferred but not mandatory, with a focus on construction management being advantageous.
  3. Experience in scheduling, procurement, field supervision, quality assurance, and all phases of construction.
  4. Proficient in reading, interpreting, and coordinating drawings and blueprints.
  5. Ability to create and manage project schedules; experience with Procore is a plus.
  6. Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety guidelines; OSHA 30-Hour certification is preferred.
  7. Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License.
  8. Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
