Job Summary

Leidos is seeking a skilled Visual Simulation Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our High Fidelity Simulation Business Area, you will be responsible for developing cutting-edge visual simulations for naval training and simulation systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement real-time, three-dimensional graphics systems for submarine periscope simulations, submarine bridge simulations, and ship weapons simulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to formulate technical direction for visual simulations and contribute to the development of innovative visualizations for US naval training.
  • Develop software in a Linux environment using C++ and OpenGL, with experience in Unreal graphics engine and various software packages.
  • Assist in the implementation of physics-based visual enhancements, leveraging a background in physics or mathematics.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 8+ years of experience developing graphics applications, primarily in C++.
  • Knowledge of OpenGL, GLSL, or Vulkan, and experience with game programming, 3D graphics development, or other visual simulation systems.
  • Ability to learn and apply new skills, as well as share expertise with the team to improve development capabilities.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with development in Unreal Engine 4.
  • Knowledge of graphics hardware and GPU internals.
  • Experience with developing for Virtual Reality headsets.
  • Exposure to 3DS Max, Maya, Photoshop, or similar modeling tools.
  • Experience with high-performance computing.
