Job Summary:

As a Behavioral Support Technician, you will deliver applied behavior analysis services to individuals diagnosed with developmental challenges, pediatric feeding issues, or other behavioral conditions under the supervision of a certified behavior analyst. Your role will involve assisting in patient evaluations and the execution of tailored programs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Organizing and maintaining data collection and analysis systems.
  • Supporting research initiatives and staff training.

Qualifications:
Essential:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Certification as an American Heart Association BLS Provider.

Desirable:
  • Experience with individuals facing developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges in educational or therapeutic environments.

Certifications:
Mandatory:
  • American Heart Association BLS Provider certification.

Work Schedule Requirements:
  • Monday to Friday.
  • Full-time commitment of 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

Applied Behavior Analysis Services:

  • Conduct patient sessions following established protocols under the guidance of a professional behavior analyst.
  • Provide input on potential procedures and methods to the supervising analyst.
  • Assist in the implementation of intake, assessment, treatment, and discharge protocols.
  • Prepare preliminary drafts of session materials and progress documentation.
  • Input assessment and treatment data into spreadsheets and generate graphical representations.
  • Report observable behaviors and environmental factors to the supervising analyst, including progress updates.
  • Conduct initial analyses of findings and present recommendations.
  • Support the development of data collection systems and protocols.
  • Contribute to skill acquisition programs focusing on enhancing feeding skills, social interactions, and communication abilities.
  • Assist in behavior reduction strategies to address inappropriate behaviors.
  • Participate in caregiver training initiatives.

Auxiliary Support:
  • Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the department's workspace and materials.
  • Assist clinical staff and behavior analysts with various research projects.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and transport patients and equipment.
  • Independently lift up to fifty (50) pounds and assist with heavier weights.
  • Utilize abdominal and lower back muscles for sustained support.
  • Engage in frequent movement and demonstrate good manual dexterity and coordination.
  • Capable of standing or sitting for extended periods.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Work with patients exhibiting challenging behaviors, including aggression or self-injury.
