Position Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and resourceful Logistics Operations Supervisor to elevate our shipping and receiving processes. Are you ready to take on this pivotal role?

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and guide the team in all shipping and receiving functions.
  • Implement improvements within the department based on industry best practices and personal expertise.
  • Maximize the use of ERP systems (Global Shop Solutions) for operational efficiency.
  • Verify shipment contents against records such as sales orders and invoices to ensure accuracy.
  • Document shipment details, including weight and charges, for reporting and recordkeeping purposes.
  • Prepare necessary shipping documents, including bills of lading and customs paperwork.
  • Coordinate with logistics carriers and both internal and external clients to resolve issues such as shortages.
  • Assist in developing corrective action plans.
  • Package, seal, label, and prepare materials for shipment.
  • Send Advanced Shipping Notices (ASN) and confirm receipt in customer portals.
  • Engage with carrier representatives to arrange shipping and delivery instructions.
  • Transport materials to various departments using forklifts or hand trucks.
  • Manage inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Identify optimal shipping methods, routes, and rates.
  • Update logistics information in customer portals as required.
  • Track and coordinate the return of shipping materials.
  • Support daily operational requests.
  • Report directly to the Operations Manager.

Qualifications for Success:

  • 3-5 years of experience in shipping and receiving management or a related supply chain role.
  • Proficiency in MRP and/or ERP systems with a commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills across various platforms: in-person, virtual, phone, and written.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, seek assistance when needed, and meet deadlines.
  • A strong desire to lead a team in a dynamic setting.
  • A proactive approach with a sense of urgency.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Attention to detail and strong data entry skills.
  • Experience in the automotive industry, particularly in a Tier 1 environment.
