We are seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team at Wabtec Corporation. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for the fitting and assembling of basic to complex mechanical and electromechanical equipment and assemblies.
Key Responsibilities- Assemble, test, and inspect mechanical and electrical components according to engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Work with electrical and mechanical equipment, including machinery, hand tools, and power tools.
- Maintain assembly and test equipment as required.
- Move material to and from the workstation by hand, cart, and crane as needed.
- Use machinery safely and efficiently, and perform tasks that require manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Minimum of 1 year of mechanical assembly experience or equivalent training certification.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with mechanical component assembly.
- High-level knowledge and experience with hand and power tools.
- Basic math and measuring skills, including the ability to read and interpret technical manuals and work procedures.
- Ability to work with electrical systems and perform tasks that require critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and take ownership of assembly operations.
- Ability to work with little supervision, be self-motivated, and a self-starter.
The physical demands of this job include standing, walking, and talking for extended periods. The employee must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The employee must also be able to work in an indoor manufacturing environment with exposure to production activities, including machinery, assembly operations, and overhead cranes.
The mental demands of this job include using written and oral communication skills, reading and interpreting data, information, and documents, analyzing and solving problems, and interacting with other employees, customers, and vendors.
