Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Community Development: Provide strategic leadership and vision for community life initiatives, fostering a sense of belonging and connection among students, faculty, and staff.
  • Spiritual Care and Support: Offer spiritual care and support to students, faculty, and staff, providing a safe and confidential space for individuals to explore their spiritual needs.
  • Rituals and Ceremonies: Collaborate with the Dean of Rockefeller Chapel and Spiritual Life staff to lead rituals and ceremonies for the campus community, including memorial services, vigils, and weddings.
  • Student Leadership and Development: Foster student leadership and participation in community life initiatives, providing opportunities for students to develop their skills and talents.
  • Community Building: Develop and implement community-building initiatives that promote a sense of connection and belonging among students, faculty, and staff.
  • Collaboration and Partnerships: Collaborate with Spiritual Life and other divisions and offices on campus to develop multi-faith programming and initiatives.
  • Communication and Outreach: Serve as a key liaison between the University community and external partners, promoting the University's mission and values.
Requirements
  • Education: Master of Divinity degree from an ATS-accredited divinity school or equivalent.
  • Experience: Significant leadership experience in a university setting, congregational, or hospital setting, with a proven track record of community development and spiritual care.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Competencies: Champion diversity and inclusion, demonstrate emotional intelligence, foster partnership and collaboration, communicate effectively and with influence, and display courage and conviction.
