Job Overview: As a County Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of Dallas County assets by performing various security-related tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular patrols of County facilities to maintain a secure environment.
- Manage and mitigate disturbances to protect individuals and property.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, including fire alarms and medical incidents.
- Screen and monitor individuals entering County premises.
- Report any maintenance issues and act as a liaison for maintenance services.
- Enforce County regulations and perform routine inspections of the property.
- Document lost items and any contraband, along with other assigned responsibilities.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Preferred: 15 college credit hours.
- Minimum of 1 year of security or related experience, or military service with honorable discharge.
- Possession of a valid Texas Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Certification from the Texas Board of Private Investigators and Private Security Agency.
- Completion of a 30-hour training program and certification from an accredited security officer training institution.
- Proficient in the use of firearms.
- Must pass physical and psychological evaluations.
- Mandatory drug testing and random screenings throughout employment.
- Visual and auditory capabilities that meet established standards.
