Job Summary

This position is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction using innovative technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Instruction: Teach courses on campus as assigned, including evening, off-campus, and distance-based courses as required.
  • Grading and Feedback: Post grades during the term for student feedback and submit final grades for each semester by the established deadline.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete required college trainings, submit required reports, and advise the Program Chair or Dean at the earliest possibility if unable to teach a class.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Regularly check JSCC email and departmental mailbox, respond to emails/messages within 48 hours, and attend meetings as requested by the Program Chair and/or Dean.
  • Syllabus and Course Materials: Submit class syllabus or update department syllabus at least 2 weeks prior to the first day of class or within 7 days of contract execution.
Minimum Qualifications

A Master's degree in Sociology or a related field with at least 18 credit hours in graduate-level Sociology from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications

Collegiate-level teaching experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes, ability to communicate effectively, and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Pay Rate and Benefits

$600 per credit hour.
