Job Title: Adjunct Instructor - Agriculture (Pool)

Institution: Jackson State Community College

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction using innovative technologies. The successful candidate will teach courses on-campus, online, and through distance-based learning, as assigned. The role requires effective communication and collaboration with diverse faculty, staff, and students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach courses on-campus, online, and through distance-based learning, as assigned.
  • Post grades during the term for student feedback and submit final grades by the established deadline.
  • Complete required college trainings and submit reports, such as attendance, Early Alerts, and progress reports, by the required deadlines.
  • Advise the Program Chair or Dean of any teaching difficulties and attend meetings as requested.
  • Regularly check JSCC email and departmental mailbox, responding to messages within 48 hours.
  • Submit class syllabus or update department syllabus at least two weeks prior to the first day of class.

Minimum Qualifications:

A Master's degree in Agriculture or a related field with at least 18 credit hours in graduate-level Agriculture from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications:

Collegiate-level teaching experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge and/or experience using various instructional delivery modes. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Pay Rate: $600 per credit hour

Closing Date: October 31, 2024

Availability/Closing Date: This posting is not a guarantee of an open position. Applications for adjunct positions are accepted on a continuous basis and reviewed by the department when openings become available. Future teaching assignments are on a term-by-term basis, which may include fall, spring, and summer.
