Key Responsibilities
As a Civil Project Engineer, you will oversee the design and preparation of engineering construction documentation, specifications, and details for multiple projects concurrently. Your expertise will be crucial in both internal and external meetings, where you will provide insights based on research and experience. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Assisting civil engineers in the daily planning, coordination, and execution of projects under the guidance of a project manager.
- Conducting research on design criteria in alignment with project scope and jurisdictional requirements.
- Creating site design construction documents, including layouts, grading, stormwater management, roadway, and utility configurations using Civil 3D.
- Performing site design calculations and analyses based on applicable codes and regulations.
- Conducting field site visits to gather essential data.
- Documenting calculations thoroughly and accurately.
- Completing site investigation and due diligence reports.
- Comparing design alternatives and documenting findings to produce comprehensive civil engineering studies and reports.
- Reviewing technical and civil engineering drawings and implementing necessary revisions.
- Proposing continuous improvement solutions for site designs.
- Participating in client meetings.
- Serving as a resource for internal department managers to assist with cost estimates and design concepts.
- Leading and mentoring junior team members by providing project direction.
- Fostering a positive work environment through mentoring, coaching, and training to support professional development.
- Performing other project-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer Licensure (PE) is preferred.
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, AutoTurn, HydroCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- The ability to motivate and mentor a team effectively.
