Job Summary

This is a part-time, temporary position with no benefits. The Custodian Assistant will be responsible for performing light to moderate cleaning of designated school building areas, including classrooms, school offices, restrooms, cafeterias, hallways, and other areas as assigned. Duties may include cleaning in central school facilities such as transportation, child nutrition facilities, or the central administration building.

Responsibilities

The Custodian Assistant will be responsible for the following tasks:
  • Sweeping and dry mopping floors.
  • Vacuuming carpeting, removing spots and stains.
  • Washing windows and walls, dusting and polishing furniture, scrubbing and washing kitchen fixtures, cleaning blinds.
  • Dusting woodwork, furniture, and other furnishings.
  • Cleaning restrooms, replacing toilet paper and soap, washing and polishing bathroom fixtures.
  • Picking up paper and debris in the building and on the grounds.
  • Replacing light bulbs as required.
  • Cleaning and mopping kitchen areas.
  • Folding and unfolding chairs.
  • Moving furniture.
  • Washing, drying, and folding tablecloths and towels.
  • Transporting, emptying, and cleaning large trash containers into outdoor units.
  • Maintaining equipment and materials used in the workspace.
  • Performing work under the direct and general supervision of the Building Supervisor.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.


Requirements

A high school diploma and one year of customer service experience is recommended.
