Job Summary

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer - Early Career to join our Safety, Quality, & Mission Assurance team. This team is responsible for monitoring and assessing processes that guide Blue Origin design, manufacture, and operations, ensuring system safety engineering, environmental health and safety, product integrity and continuous improvement processes serve the Blue Origin Mission and Vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in quality reviews, such as pre-ship, pedigree, and hardware acceptance reviews.
  • Support troubleshooting of quality issues and corrective action boards.
  • Assist in the selection and execution of RCCA, FMEA, SPC, and DMAIC.
  • Support the shift lead quality engineer in the review, identify, and document of nonconformances against hardware, material and processes.
  • Monitor the development of continuous improvement activities, compliance surveillance assessments, manufacturing and assembly activities trends.
  • Monitor actionable metrics to drive sustainable improvement across test stands and launch operations.
  • Support field sites with other quality engineers as required.
  • Participate in life cycle reviews and test readiness reviews, flight readiness reviews, mission readiness reviews, and post flight data reviews.

Requirements

  • Minimum experience of 0 to 3 years.
  • Minimum of a B.S. in Engineering or expected to graduate with Engineering degree within 6 months.
  • Quality assurance experience on an engine test stands, manufacturing and launch operations environment.
  • Entry level experience on maintenance, modifications, dimensional measurements, and inspections.
  • Knowledgeable on technical documentation, system configuration and assemblies.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO9001 Quality Management System and/or related quality systems and programs.
  • Ability to support test and launch operations for first and/or second shift throughout the week.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification a plus.
  • Internal Audit Training / Certification.
  • Formal RCA training.
